WHAT WE DO

Understanding how physical activity can facilitate greater social integration among new Canadian women and children/youth is the primary focus of the ACTIVEIntegration partnership. ACTIVEIntegration focuses on policy, community programming, physical activity interventions, and provides a venue for social integration.

Our partnership, based in Waterloo, Ontario, is made up of two universities (i.e., Wilfrid Laurier University; Laurentian University), a not-for-profit community organization (i.e., Focus for Ethnic Women), the City of Kitchener, and the Region of Waterloo Public Health Unit, and the Sun Life Financial Centre for Physically Active Communities research centre.
